Before going to Animateka Chintis made a 5-hour stop at Czech Republic. It's good to know that although prices at the airport are high.. having some total rubbish at Mcdonals costs the same as in the outside-of-the-airport-world..
As I have mentioned before it is terribly important when arriving to a never-before-visited city to immediately take many pictures of important houses.. preferably without caring much about correcting perpective and definetley using odd angels. Also it's important to have at least some pictures of important houses with yourself standing in a right bottom corner of the picture.. or in the center. Since I'm not a perfectionist I have ignored some of these important rules but still.. here are some pictures of important houses followed by some pictures from the festival and this time sadly.. no pictures of cars..

Vahepeal viibisime kohalolevalt Animated Dreamsil.. pilte seekord (veel) ei ole. Chintis käis festivali raames jahumas Eesti anima hetkeseisu lahkaval paneelil nr 1. Millest võib lähemalt lugeda siit ja siit..
Pärast närvilisuses viibivat esilinastust otsustasime loogiliselt tegeleda edasi Volli Palli helisujundusega, mille kohta me tegelikult juba enne teadsime, et see ei ole valmis aga suutsime end natuke petta..
Kohevarsti saab valmis Montego, 11-minutiline animatsioon, mis põhineb Chintise vägaammusel ja mittekunagi valmis saanud koomiksil. Helisujumuse osas ei või küll teada kui kaua see veel aega võtab.
We attended the Animated Dreams.. no boring pictures (yet). As a representative of estonian indie-animation Chintis took part of the bla-bla-bla event called "Estonian animation now". About that strange event you can read here and here (if you can understand estonian.. or of course you can also use google translate, that's always a funny experience).
After the quite nervous premiere of Volli Pall we decided to make some corrections in sound. We of course knew already before that it was not quite ready but we managed to fool ourselves somehow.
Verysoon a new animation called Montego will be ready (11 minutes). Montego is based on Chintis's quite old and neverfinished comic.

Giidina töötav Volli avastab ühel hommikul oma kapist portugaallase. Volli elukaaslane Olivier ei ole kahtlase lõunamaa mehe äkilise ilmumise üle sugugi õnnelik. Üha kummalisemaid olukordi eirates jätkab Volli oma igapäevast rutiini kuni saabuva öö unenäoline purjusus ning paranähtuste eksponentsiaalne sagenemine Volli töö ja mittetöö veelgi keerulisemaks teevad.
Volli, who works as a tour-guide, discovers one morning a portuguese in his closet. Vollis partner Olivier is not amused over the sudden appearance of this southern man. Volli, totally ignoring the more and more peculiar situations, continues his usual routine until the dream-like drunkness of the night and the exponentially rising rate in paranormal activities make his work and not-work even more difficult.
Eesti filmide kategoorias oli 5 filmi ja kõik said auhinna.
There were 5 films in the category of Estonian films and they all got a prize.
Lisaks kiidukirjale kaasnesid auhinnaga kaks kummalist elementi, mis kui ma õieti aru saan on meisterdatud Lihula Muusika- ja Kunstikooli laste poolt. Võibolla ma ei valeta selles osas.
In addition to the diploma, the award was accompanied by two strange objects, which, if I understand correctly, are made by the children of Lihula Music- and Artschool. It could be that I'm not lying.
.. sai lõpuks ometi valmis.. veel ainult mõned sumedad helisujundused. Täies pikkuses seekord internetti ei ilmu.. vähemalt mitte lähima aasta või kahe jooksul.. aga olukordade adekvaatsete kulgevuste korral ilmneb muid võimalusi konkreetse töö nägemiseks ja võibolla omamiseks.
.. is finally finished.. only some smooth corrections in sound to be made. This time it will not be available to see in full lenght on the internet.. at least not for a year or two.. but if the circumstances continue to move in adequate directions, then there will be other ways to see or maybe even own this animation.

Every tourist knows that when arriving to a foreign town, first you have to take a lot of pictures of boring buildings.
Kuigi salaja toimus festivali varjus ka linnatutvustusring, siis sellel hommikusöögil Chintis ei viibinud.. ja eelnevaseoseliselt ei tea ta üldsegi, mis tähtis maja see ometi on.. Although secretly a tour of the city was held, Chintis did not attend that breakfast and in connection with that undeniable fact she does not know at all what kind of strange important building this is...

Linnatuurist maha jäämisest hoolimata teab Chintis siiski, et sellel hiilgaval fotol siin on kujutatud kino Muza sissekäiku.. Despite of missing the city-tour, Chintis does know for sure that on this splendid photograph here you can see the entrance to the cinema Muza
Peaks võibolla veel mainima, et sellesama hoone hästiventileeritud kinosaalis näidati kohutavalt palju animatsioone.. ja teises kinos ka, kus oli meeldivalt suur ekraan ja pehmed istmed ja ventilatsioon üldsegi puudus ja millest Chintisel absoluutne tunnusfoto puudub.
Üks animatsioon, mida Chintis selles justkui-mugavas kinos nägi: I guess I should also mention that in that well-ventilated cinema, loads of animations were shown.. and also at the other cinema where they had a pleasently big screen, comfortable seating and no ventilation at all and of which Chintis has no foto. Üsna keeruline on kui oled põhjamaalaslikult endassetõmbunud ja ühelgi festivalikohvikus viibival rezhissööril pole tavapärast, ülimalt totakat kaelakaarti ning peale animainimeste viibib samas kohvikus ka uskumatu kogus kohalikke... I came across them absolutely by chance.. It's fairly difficult when you're a typical inwards northern person and none of the directors at the festival cafe are wearing those usual and very stupid identification cards and in addition the cafe is filled with loads of local people...
Juhuslikult sattus Chintis ka vendade Quay-de uue nukufilmi Mask esilinastusele. Neile anti rohelisest kristallist eriauhind. Ise tundusid nad üsna kadununa. By accident Chintis also happend to attend the world premiere of a puppetfilm by brothers Quay, called The Mask. They were given a special prize made out of green crystal. They themselves seemed quite lost.
Ja veel juhuslikumalt jäädvustasin tähtsaid animarezhissööre ja muid isikuid pärast esietendust shampust joomas. And even more accidentally I took a picture of important animation directors and other people drinking shampagne after the premiere..

Afterpartyle Chintis oma fotokaamerat kaasa ei võtnud.. aga ta kinnitab, et seal ei olnud niikuinii midagi pildistada.. ainult terve hunnik kuulsaid ja vähemkuulsaid animarezhissööre, kinotöötajaid ja poliitikuid, mõned helirezhissöörid ja väga töökad turvamehed. Chintis did not bring her photocamera to the afterpary.. but she can assure you that there was not anything worth photographing anyway.. Only a bunch of famous or not famous animation directors, cinemaworkers, politicians, some composers and very hard-working security guards.
Peaaegu sama tähtis kui maju pildistada on enne lahkumist jäädvustada ka igat sorti liiklusvahendeid. Almost as important as taking pictures of houses, is to also photograph all kinds of transportation vehicles before leaving.
